Finally finished the model I got for Christmas! The original kit is a detective agency that's very clearly supposed to be Sherlock Holmes-themed, but I changed some things and made some pieces from scratch to make it Sam Spade's office instead. My own creations don't look quite as polished as the pieces that came with the kit, but I'm still pretty pleased with the end result.

My own creations don't look quite as polished as the pieces that came with the kit, but I'm still pretty pleased with the end result.

Putting together the new model I got for Christmas, which means placing the protective glass dome down so the cat can't get her paws on the completed furniture.
(Bonus, it looks like a tiny wizard has erected a magical ward to protect his finds at a jumble sale)

As a hobby I build #miniature model kits largely made by #Rolife brand and customise them a bit. I've been known to stream builds on #Twitch and would like to do more of that. Not enough hours in the day, eh? /7

I've been obsessed with miniature house kits since someone here on masto posted their beautiful 'Sam's Study' build a year ago, so my partner surprised me with the 'Record Mood' mini house, which was much more approachable for someone who's never done a miniature before. I love how it came out, but even more importantly, I had an absolutely blast doing it. I'm already eyeballing the next kit I want to get. 🏠
