Röki (Multiplatform, experienced on PS5) Discover a fairy tale forest as Tove, while you fight to find and save your brother from Jötunravn and her son Röki.Do not let the art style of this narrative adventure (aka point and click) fool you. This game deals with some heavy themes throughout your playthrough: kidnapping, death, etc. However, there is no combat or actual scenes of violence. In fact, much of the game is quite beautiful and is matched well with the background music. Also well done is the "voice acting" which is mostly grunts and names to go along with text boxes. The actors put plenty feeling into it though.
As is typical of adventure games, you spend your time with this one solving puzzles to open the paths forward and progress to the end of the story. There are some cool sections near the end that offer you some mechanics not usually seen in these types of games that I particularly enjoyed. And it was quite pleasant to play with a controller, which not all point and clicks manage.
I quite liked this one. Good story, good puzzles, good music, and not too long. I've got 13 hours logged in it but I do tend to sit "afk" as I have a meal etc, so I'm guessing it's more like 8 hours to complete. 👍 👍

CW: Röki (game)
I finally got around to playing #Röki What a great little #game! Loved every minute of it. The puzzles were clever, not too challenging, and they all made sense.
The emotive sounds rather than fully voiced narration worked quite well. I never got tired of hearing the seemingly endless iterations of "Lars?", "Lars!", "Papa", "Tove!", etc.
Highly recommended!

Oh, btw: I finished #Röki. What a wonderful charming game. 😍

I started with #Röki today and initially had massive problems with the controls on the Steamdeck, skimmed through the support forums without any findings and got slightly angry - turned out, restarting the Deck helped. Check your own side before blaming the product. 😊

@PolygonAlex I’m playing #Roki with my 6yr old (under guidance, because it’s quite scary at times), and she loves those shyrooms as well as the terrific lead character. Thank you!
