Second E-14 shifter unit to fail for me. First went dead at 22.000 kms and this one made it to 29.500 km.

The hubs are world-class but the electronics fail. Not really a fan of these E-14's.

Da mir mit dem Ölwechsel dieses Jahr der Vorrat an Öl für meinen #Speedhub ausgegangen ist, habe ich nach Ersatz geschaut.
#Rohloff hat die #Spezifikation der Ölmengen geändert. Statt 25ml (Schmier-)Öl sind es jetzt nur 12,5ml, die Menge an Spülöl bleibt gleich bei 25ml.
Dementsprechend ist bei den Ölwechselsets im Angebot nur noch die Hälfte des Öl in der Schmierölflasche. In der Spülölmenge ist die gleiche wie früher, der Preis bei weniger Öl ist auch der gleiche.

#TIL If you update the firmware of your ebike's #Rohloff E-14 electronic shifter, make sure to also update the #Bosch software on your bike. Otherwise, you might end up with a non-responsive shifter stuck in first gear and a grey “--” symbol instead of the selected gear on your Bosch display. 😬

(Luckily, updating the Bosch software after the Rohloff firmware turned everything back to normal.)

The #Nuvinci / #enviolo hub is not as reliable as the #rohloff ; there are many reports of the hubs breaking down under stress, shifting range is not suitable for above 30-35 km/h (cadence bottoms out) and the efficiency is among the lowest amongst rear hubs (not a problem when paired with electric assistance).

The last two aren't a problem with normal e-bike use at speeds below 30 km/h.

All in all, I'd guess most users are very satisfied with their Enviolos.

Laut meinem Radhändler verliert meine #Rohloff #Speedhub Öl. Er meinte ein Service bei Rohloff koste zwischen 300€ und 500€. Die Narbe ist 5 Jahre alt, Laufleistung ca. 25k km. Habt ihr damit Erfahrungen? Ist das wirklich so teuer? Würde mich schon etwas wurmen, denn man kauft die Schaltung ja gerade aufgrund der langen Lebensdauer und des angeblich so guten Services.

Hab ja jetzt ein #terngsd R14. Meine Frau hat jetzt Angst, dass wir ins Visier des „europäischen Verbands für Fahrraddiebstahl“ gerückt sind.
Ich muss noch die E14 bei #rohloff registrieren. Aber muss man noch mit der Rahmennummer zu Polizei oder Versicherung? Unsere Räder sind jeweils über die Hausrat versichert.

@mossyfoot @Anibyl I find it's a good idea to change the #Rohloff to the highest gear before undoing the box. It is usually easier to get back on then.
First time I did it I ended up "losing" some gears. (Found them again by changing gears and controller to top - taking the box on and off several times to do so.)

Kann ich die Ritzel eigentlich einfach drehen? Bei meiner #Rohloff mache ich das auch. #Brompton

Also mit einem Umbau der #Rohloff von 50Z vorne auf 46Z und 22Z hinten statt 19Z käme ich auf 1,2m Entfaltung im ersten Gang statt 1,5m und könnte den aktuellen Gates-Riemen weiterbenutzen, weil das nur 4mm Längenunterschied ausmacht. Und das Rad wäre dann tauglich auch für 14% #Steigung.

@zwangseinweisung Die #Rohloff ist definitiv eine gute Wahl. Habe ich gerade heute auf meiner Mittagsrunde wieder gemerkt, als ich (mit Beladung) steile Anstiege im Wald hoch gefahren bin und bis in die 1 runtergeschaltet habe. Ein Träumchen.

Oh – wie es aussieht, hat #Rohloff endlich eine Alternative zum subotimalen Schalter für die #RohloffE14 entwickelt. 😻
