On another subject, we’ve had a couple of young white-tail deer bucks adopt our hillside property of late. We keep wildlife corridors open (unlike some of our neighbors) and though we don’t feed wildlife, we do keep troughs of water available during high temperature days. Country life in the #PNW is awesome. We love the wildlife, including our skunks and foxes; though we detest the burrowing brown ground squirrels that eat our chicken scratch, tunnel under our trees, and raid our veggie and flower garden. #Oregon #RogueValley

Our deer-fenced garden is starting to look like Fall. Roses are finishing up, potted trees turning color, last of our veggies hanging on til they ripen. Not sure how much Fall color we’ll get given the recent heat waves, but I’ll be sure to share pics when Autumn leaves are at their most colorful. #PNW #PNWGardening #gardening #Flowers #FlowersOfMastodon #BloomScrolling #Oregon #RogueValley

Greetings mutuals. Happy #HumpDay for those still doing the 9-5 daily grind. Here in southern #Oregon we’re having some much needed rain and cooler temps - very welcome. It definitely feels like Autumn is on the way, even this early in September. I have no doubt we’ll have some ‘Indian Summer’ after this respite. My neighbors and I in the #RogueValley are wondering what the ‘super El Niño’ has in store for us this late Fall and Winter. Predictive climate models put us right on the border of ‘higher precipitation’ and ‘continued drought’ - so it could go either way. Should be interesting; a real climate anomaly that may test previous records. I’ll be reporting regularly on our weather, and I’m interested in your impressions from your regions - so let’s keep this conversation going over the next months. #Climate #ElNino #weather #SouthernOregon
