This year I decided I wanted to try and knock a few games off my backlog.

It wasn't particularly successful, but I did get a few pretty great games finished with the help of my Legion Go.

I don't really do Games of the Year because I generally don't play enough of the big games at the time they come out to have that sort of recency to make a decision.

I do have a favourite game I played - but it wasn't one that released this year - or even this decade! Disco Elysium was such a great journey, with a lovely mix of very cool graphics, gameplay loop, and a bat shit crazy story.

Honourable mentions to Rogue Legacy, which I played a lot of way back in the PS Vita era but never got around to finishing until this year, and to Arcade Paradise which was a very cool experience.

I'm surprised I played Cricket 24 as much as I did but the numbers don't lie 😅

Is it just me, but I am a little bit disappointed that for Rogue Legacy 2, they went with a simple mobile game graphics, instead of maybe tweaking or adding effects to the pixelart of the first game?

This week the #rogueLite "Rogue Legacy" and the horror #adventure and exploration #game "The Vanishing of Ethan Carter" are free, and I can at least highly recommend the former if you like #platformers.
Next week you can get the adventure #strategy game "Insurmountable" and the turn-based #tactics strategy "XCOM 2" for free as in #gratis! I liked the first XCOM remake as well as the original UFO: Unknown, and I enjoyed watching Many a True Nerd's playthrough Insurmountable, so I'll certainly be picking those up. :)
