"Me and Bobby McGee" is a song written by American singer-songwriter #KrisKristofferson and originally performed by #RogerMiller. #FredFoster shares the writing credit, as Kristofferson wrote the song based on a suggestion from Foster. A posthumously released version by #JanisJoplin topped the Billboard Hot 100 in 1971, making the song the second posthumously released No. 1 single in U.S. chart history after "(Sittin' On) The Dock of the Bay" by #OtisRedding.

Not the greatest Roger Miller album but worth a dollar and a listen. Oddly for a guy known as a songwriter, there’s only one original on here. Five of the 11 songs were written by Dennis Linde who wrote Elvis’ “Burning Love” a couple years later.

"King of the Road" is a song written by #country singer #RogerMiller, who first recorded it in November 1964. The lyrics tell of the day-to-day life of a traveling #hobo, who despite having little money (a "man of means by no means"), revels in his freedom, describing himself humorously and cynically as the "king of the road". It was Miller's fifth single for #SmashRecords. The song won Miller 5 Grammy Awards in 1966.
