  1. Sergio Leone – „Todesmelodie“ (1971)

The Revolution“. (ARTE, Wh.)

  4. 3 things about Tony Richardson’s THE LOVED ONE [1965]

    1. In preparation, she paints herself.
    2. Not only waterproof or moisture-proof, but damp-proof.
    3. “It’s a new one, it’s a new one! Oh God! Oh God, oh God.”

Luis Buñuel tried to make the film first; when he was unsuccessful, he sold the option to Tony Richardson.

  5. @patrickhadfield
a fantastic movie with a legendary performance by #SidneyPoitier, even though #RodSteiger won the Oscar for best actor (and the #film the #Oscar for best movie of 1967…)

  6. Innocents With Dirty Hands is a rather cerebral 1975 Claude Chabrol thriller starring Romy Schneider. A psychological study of love, hate, sex, murder, revenge, forgiveness and jealousy which turns out to be not at all what it initially promised to be. It turns out to be a lot more interesting and it’s recommended.

  7. 3 things about Norman Jewison’s IN THE HEAT OF THE NIGHT [1967]

    1. Fern root on the accelerator.
    2. “Oh, now, don’t get smart, black boy. I don’t need it. No pity, thank you. No thank you!”
    3. Flypaper strips hanging from the ceiling at well-spaced intervals.

  8. The #DonaldTrump indictment in #NewYork made us think of murderer & bootlegger #AlCapone, who was indicted – and eventually sent to prison in the early #1930s – for ... tax evasion.

    Notable Capone & (Capone-inspired) #movie portrayals include:

    #PaulMuni in #Scarface (1932)
    (#AnnDvorak was his good-looking sister
