Hey hey rock tumbling folks! For Christmas this year I'd like to ask for a rock tumbler. My grandpa tumbled Columbia river rocks all the time I was growing up, it was so fun! I inherited his tumbler but uh, I would not exactly trust the wiring. I'd like a new one.
If you have one and have thoughts on brands, quality, noise of machine, durability of machine, those sorts of things, I'd love to learn more.

The final stage of the petrified wood. So good so far but i need to temper my expectations while they're wet.

Ok so putting all the stuff ready for Step 2 off to the side and I'm just making this tumbler dedicated to the whittling down bigger stones. So step 1 again expect I'm throwing the Beryl (Emerald) back in.

I'm so pissed at myself. Due to preparing for the Arkansas trip, i didn't even touch these rock tumblers for almost a month. Heck, some of them could have been completed by now. Like the Petrified wood, which is looking great.

Hope everyone had a wonderful Easter. Now that the family is gone i can reclaim the table and get back to work. Going for step 2 again to see if it can better smooth out these holes without being too rough compared to Step 1 grit.

Two weeks of stage one grit and they seem unchanged, and that's because they are. Somehow, all the grit sank to the bottom of the barrel and created a cement-like layer of fine ceramic media and grit that never got incorporated into the mix. I've never had that problem before. When I get the obsidian rolling again, I will be giving the barrel a really good shake before I put it on the rollers. Hopefully that solves the issue. #rocktumbling #rocks #rockpolishing

Blue Agate is still not at that right size im wanting, so 1 more step 1 will hopefully do the trick.

Now onward to the Blue Agate and the randos. Lets see how well they did. See glance they look good but the the right desired size.

It's looking good. I hope it all works out for the best. Let's add all the petrified wood and scrap stone for weight and see what happens.

This right here is the final step 1 tumble for the petrified wood. I feel that these are the right size to continue on to step 2 as for the Beryl (Emerald) that's getting put to the side.
