Nice presentation of the ownership of #music #festivals [1]. Only 4 big companies are responsible for about 150 music festivals in multiple countries. Including #wacken #rockamring #rockimpark #splash! #heros #thunderdome #meraluna ... Now think of smaller #local #bands which want to be part of their local #festival. What do you think happens, when a small band writes an application for one of these festivals? I have been there and words like pay to play, ticket presale come to my mind. I do not think (next to efficiency) that this results a broad cultural development. #IMHO

Beim ersten #RockamRing vor 40 Jahren war ich selber noch nicht dabei. Erst ein Jahr später habe ich das Zelt auf die #honda #mbx80 geschnallt und mich auf den Weg zum #nuerburgring gemacht - zum ersten Festival meines Lebens. Es sollten noch einige folgen.
