Aktuálně se spíná ventilátor v bedně při 60°C na plno, zatím žádné pwm 😕 To je problém pro mě v budoucnu 😄

Konečně 🥳
Tenhle Frankenstein je podružná deska k #Radxa #Rock5B, která by s pomocí trochy Rustu měla obsloužit 2x7seg displej a ventilátor pro můj mini desktop.
2x8bit posuvný registr by se měl starat o ukládání hodnoty a tranzistor BC547 o PWM ventilátoru.
Snad to nevybouchne 😄

#FreeCAD, kde doháním prototypování a parametrizaci modelu na 5:4 monitoru, který pohání #Radxa #Rock5B SBC.

Rozšiřující deska k retro bedně, verze 0.

- ovládání ventilátoru + 12V step up
- 3-wire ovládání 7seg displejů

Ještě to musím zmenšit cca o 3,5mm, jinak se to tam nevejde.

Žije! 🥳
Aktuálně si bere teplotu pouzdra a zobrazuje ji na displeji se zaokrouhlením na jednotky stupňů.

Každý pin GPIO je schopný sice dát 3,3V, ale gpiochip1 a gpiochip4 nejsou schopné dodat dostatečný proud na rozsvícení LED diody, takže jsem musel přeházet druhý displej na jinou část headerů.

Pomalu, zlehka, ale už se tam postupně dostávám 💪
Zároveň si díky tomuhle projektu osahávám rust a učím se s GPIO na mainline linuxu.

Ještě asi proběhnou menší úpravy předního panelu, ale pomalu můžu začít slavit 😅 Reprint kvůli špatnému designu se týkal jen jednoho dílu 🙂

Dnešní odpoledne bude patřit 3D tisku 😅
Už mi zbývá jen pár částí, odhadem tak 4-5h tisku.

Aktuálně mám hotový rámeček jen pro Rock 5B, ale díky rastru na straně by neměl být problém vložit dovnitř cokoliv, co se vměstná do rozměrů 123x152mm.

I wanted to try #GoToSocial, so I installed it on my #Rock5B at home. I'm not sure, if I want to open this instance to others, but it's fun to run another piece of the #Fediverse

If somebody is interested, I gladly share my #Kubernetes manifests 😀

Should I try some other implementation? 🤔

Since I don't find a solution to setup relays for GoToSocial, I'm not sure, how this instance will federate... This will be a great experiment!

Working HDMI on the #rock5b in #NetBSD

Hell yeah!!! Finally got HDMI output working under #NetBSD on the #rock5b 🎉
This was by far the hardest part of the hardware bringup (until now), as it requires correctly configuring the VOP2, HDMI-TX, and the HDMI PHY all at once, with no easy way to debug "in between".
Really satisfying though to see the display suddenly turn on for the first time.

Another update on the ongoing work around the #ROCK5B RK3588: USB 3.0 preliminary support in U-boot has now been added: https://col.la/r5usb3 #RK3588 #OpenSource

Now the system does slow down when the CPU is under load, and as well optimised compiling Rust is, it does not help when it takes over while you actively work on your code.

Now I have two of these #Rock5B boards. I was initially thinking of setting one up as a gitlab runner. However, if you managed to get shared storage between two systems, You could probably get by with one board for development, and a second compiling. A very mini cluster.

So #linux 6.3 has been tagged. In it includes mainline support for the #rk3588 and #rock5b. I guess I now have another distraction. But it will be good if I can get it working on my rock5b considering the armbian image I'm using is still on 5.10

So I dont really want to run ubuntu on my #Rock5B . had too many issues in the past. Debian is also supported but I got thinking. And as it turns out there is a community supported image of #nixos for the rock5b. Am I going nix finally?

BENCHMARKFEST 2023 UPDATE

Le Potato testing is complete as is retesting of the Inovato Quadra and Rock 5B. Still waiting to hear back about a possible trade to acquire a Raspberry Pi 4B. Retesting of Mini PCs will commence later tonight as well as putting Le Potato in my GeeekPi cluster case.
