GStreamer can now also run on your robot vacuum!
After my dustsrc talk during the last GStreamer Conference ( https://indico.freedesktop.org/event/11/contributions/516/ ), the wonderful @Hypfer took it, fixed a couple of bugs, managed to build it into a single executable, turned it into an actual product, and integrated it into Valetudo: https://github.com/Hypfer/Valetudo/releases#release-2026.08.0
So, right now, Valetudo can display an mpeg-1-in-mpegTS video stream that comes from your robot vacuum. I'm impressed by the pure-JavaScript demuxing and decoding library, but also by the old CRT look and agingTV-esque effects to indicate signal quality.

Man accidentally gains control of 7,000 #robotvacuums
Sammy Azdoufal wanted to steer his #DJI Romo with a controller. Building his app, he used an AI coding assistant to help reverse-engineer how robot communicated with DJI’s cloud. But he soon discovered that the same credentials that allowed him to see and control his own device also provided access to live camera feeds, microphone audio, maps, and status data from nearly 7,000 other #vacuums across 24 countries.

Mashable: Hacker says he accidentally breached 7,000 DJI robot vacuums with a PS5 controller. “Sammy Azdoufal told The Verge he wasn’t trying to hack anyone else’s robot vacuum. It was merely a fun project for the software engineer, who alerted DJI about its massive authentication slip-up — while sharing how little work it took to access the ins and outs of a Romo owner’s home.”
