    According to The Buchanite Delusion by John Cameron, Burns was in and around the cult during its time in Irvine, attracted, unsurprisingly, by one of its female members, Jean Gardiner. Jean was sister to Katherine, one if the last surviving Buchanites, and both of them were servants of Patrick Gibson and his family.
