House Purchase update.

Well Building Survey of the house (plot) we have fallen in love with, made an offer on etc, is in

It IS OFFICIALLY a #WeirdHouse

It’s self built in 1926 from home made concrete blocks with a small cavity wall construction with water proof render.

He and all his colleagues (nationally) have never seen a similar build.

I wounder if they bought American block making equipment as it’s such an unusual build.

It obviously should put us off but we can’t resist ..

Another update
We accepted an offer on our house last Thursday & after working a rock festival for the best part of a week, we finally got to view the Lincolnshire coast house we liked the look of today.

Small house, big old shed, static caravan for son, on about an acre.

After two hours being shown everything by the owner we shook hands on a deal 😁

So here’s to a couple of months of solicitors & paperwork, & waiting for a new life to start.

& we get a couple of nights in the #roadtrek too

The #roadtrek is perfect for staying in for a week or two max.

The caravan is slightly bigger but even so I’ve no idea how son managed to live in it for 9 years and not go (completely) insane 🤯

There has been quite a delay in getting our #LogCabinBuild works finished (about a year) for “reasons”.
But we are now re-starting work and today the old caravan finally left for a new home and Bam the #Roadtrek can take his place on “the drive”

Oh this is the first time I’ve seen one of Bam the #Roadtrek‘s twins (same age and spec save Bam has leather seats) for sale.

Seems to be in better shape with less paint peal and far fewer mods and bodges. Asking price is about the same as when we bought in 2012.

They might want to push the Canadian 🇨🇦 heritage more 🤷‍♂️

I’m gonna seek out as many Sainsbury’s Smart Charge chargers as possible as they are the only ones I’ve had 100% luck with so far.

Had a quiet day & walked up the Graig hill next to my old university. We sat & looked down on the valley where Donna & I met, fell in love, lived and learned all lot, before we moved away to Yorkshire ❤️

What a day!

It is so nice to see the new owners breathing so much life into the place

Then we headed south to visit “everyone”.
It was both wonderful and sad for numerous horrible reasons to catch up with old friends and family. Thanks to TomTom we made our rounds without holdups

Now parked up outside an aunt’s house and planning a trip to the seaside tomorrow

Randomly pulled off the main road & followed a sign we thought was for a wood to stop for lunch.
Turned out to was Erddig House

Had a nice walk around the estate but didn’t pay to get in. You can get a reasonable view of the house through a beautiful gateway though 👍

Then we blasted to Newtown to stop in the car park next to a river & large park. Bailey is happy as the squirrel was up the tree next to the van when we got back from our walk 🐿️🌲👍

We have a trip planned straight after so I do hope we don’t have to source parts for him to pass, especially as the company that used to ship from the US weekly has changed ownership and I’ve not used them in 5 years!

I did put chunky off road tyres on the #Roadtrek as new UK/EU Regs have killed the supply of suitable size and load rated road biased tyres here 🤷‍♂️

I find they are brilliant
Even when well corroded (the head will snap off before it strips the head) and it’s so easy to hold the screw on the driver to position and line up the screw one handed 👍

After our chilly trip away I decided it was time to order a new thermostat to allow the furnace to heat to over 18 degrees C … managed to bag the last new Heat Pump version I could find anywhere on the internet 😁

Was wrong model number and pin layout was different to the oe item and the instructions that came with it. Vehicle wire colours matched thankfully.

Ordered a new awning end too.

@Cbfoley I feel your pain 😉 glad it’s sorted low voltage does all sorts of off things.

Our thermostat has stopped triggering the furnace (and everything else) until it gets far too cold for us, and especially the dogs.

I don’t trust my fettling skills unless I have a new one to install if I break it.

Plenty of cheap £9 knock offs for the non Heat Pump version we don’t need 🙄

So I’m £90 lighter, but we WILL hopefully be warm again soon even if the weather doesn’t improve.🤞
