  1. This transition from jersey barrier to cable barrier feels...suboptimal. I feel like the only reason they did it this badly was because of the emergency crossover at the same location.

  2. But there's definitely places where having city routes as numbered routes, regardless of mode, are freaking handy for navigation. Tulsa's starting to forget this, now that the only two remaining city routes are LL (Tisdale Parkway) and G(ilcrease Expressway), since R(iverside Parkway) has been retired as that's been downgraded to a boulevard or neighborhood throughfare due to lack of demand for a highway most of its length)

  3. A proof of concept for OpenHistoricalMap Americana simulates a road atlas at any point in the history of highway construction. Tour down #Route66 and the other highways that existed at the time.

  5. [ ATTEMPT AT #introduction ]

Hi, I'm James / Kurzov (roughly pronounced "curse off"). Before you ask: Born and raised in the US, and I've got no direct connection to Eastern Europe or Russia or any of that. The username came around long before all the Ukraine stuff started happening.

    VAGUE INTERESTS OF SORTS:
(along with some tags since Mastoderp/Pleroma/Fedi-Verse works in strange ways...)

    Roadgeek. ( #roadgeek )
    Fan of Touhou Project and Len'en Project. ( #touhou / #lenen - #len_en )
    Terrible artist.
    Classic Tetris player. ( #NEStris / #ClassicTetris )

Absentee Twitch streamer. Used to stream regularly and still plan to, but I've had to put it on the backburner for quite a while now as I have had to take care of my father, who unfortunately passed away recently.

    Involved with @GWESOfficial ...

I will probably be distant for a little while longer while I finish dealing with all the hoops that must be dealt with after moving residences.

  7. Today, from the "doesn't really matter because they're never used" department...

I think that U.S. speed limit should have a red ring around the number, even though the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices says that the ring should be black.

It's still a sign with the red ring, and it would stand out a lot more.

  8. #introductions

Hello, I'm Taralyn, and I'm over on a new account. Nothing against the old instance, but right now the birdsite influx is crushing it pretty good. So I'm over here now. This instance better caters to me as a person anyway.

There's obviously a bunch of stuff in my profile, most of the hashtags that apply to me. I'm a trans woman who's been in transition for almost 19 years. I am an artist, and when my computer hardware permits, a game streamer.

    Some other hashtags for interests:

  9. For all of the newcomers here, here is my re- #introduction post.

I'm a :linux: FOSS enthusiast who uses Budgie :budgie:, #cartophile, #roadgeek, and single (looking for a lady). I work in IT in a retirement community.

In my spare time, I collect and read maps, go hiking, kayaking, camping, and other outdoor recreation, and play Euro Truck Simulator 2 and American Truck Simulator. I contribute data to OpenStreetMap whenever I can.

Originally, I'm from Austin, Texas now in NW Pennsylvania.
