Bike riding in Monterey and Pebble Beach
We did a very nice tri-club bike ride on Sunday starting in Monterey (CA) heading south along the coast past Pacific Grove and into the Pebble Beach area along 17 Mile Drive and turning around at the iconic Lone Cypress as seen in the photo.
This part of the CA coast is spectacular with its rocky beaches intermixed with white sand. Along the route you pass two of the famous Pebble Beach golf courses, Spyglass Hill and Spanish Bay. And of course there are the houses. You’re either awed or appalled at their Hurst Castle-like gaudy excessiveness.

We did this 20 mile bike ride this weekend from #Capitola to the Seymour Marine lab north of #SantaCruz. My wife and I crossed over a 1000 bike miles each in 2024 this weekend. This is one of the nicer bike routes in the Santa Cruz area, IMHO. Starting at the Jade Street Park in Capitola, it is slightly inland for the first half then along the coast for the back half return to Capitola.
With all of the chaos surrounding us, it is a nice way to clear the head and get active outside in the fresh air.

Going out for a #ride in a few minutes. Yesterday rained, so the temperature is acceptable here at 1000m elevation. Will do some #tarmac mountain twisty roads, will be fun!

This is a general question, but northwest Washington State answers are particularly appreciated (Snohomish, Whatcom, Skagit, Island, etc).
I’d like to start biking (and maybe hiking, for that matter) with groups (bonus for lgbtq, but not required). I’ve looked on Strava and Meetup but there aren’t a lot, and most are either defunct, or seem a bit too hardcore focused on speed (road) and technical (mtb) than I want. I’d just like some good social rides.
Where do people find groups like that?

For the fourth year in a row. I've managed to do more than 365 hours of #sport.
Though only just 🤣.
Mostly #CrossFit this or rather last year.
Less #biking #MTB #gravel or #roadbiking which was a shame. Some #running and #trailrunning but again not enough.
Let's hope I can do better in 2024

Unusual relatively warm and snow-free Mid-Feb ride in #jeffersoncounty #jeffersoncountynewyork
Threw on some MTB fenders & lotsa lights, quick waxed the bike to repell dirty salty road debris
It was hellaciously windy, dark and dreary, a little rainy at times and some wet muddy patches but nice to get out.
