I'm still baffled by these new roadsigns that have gone up in Newbury. Pass both sides of what? On pedestrianised streets. I think someone ordered the wrong signs.

So someone posted their favorite sign over on Mastodon, and I replied with what is my favorite sign, the 'No Straight' sign.
First time I saw this was on a new intersection where one side is a highway ramp, and the other a two-way road, apparently 'Do Not Enter' signs weren't enough, so they put one of these up. Honestly, I'm surprised to know its a standard, Missouri isn't exactly known for sticking to standards, whether its abbreviations like LA for lane, or the non-standard all text signs on the road to my house announcing the road closure ahead and the truck ban on it.

CW: Nzpol. Road signage or political brainwash.
An observation made while driving through some Manawatu and Taranaki towns, is a biggish blue sign at the edge of a town with a National MPs fisogg( face) on a NAT Party emblem. They may be everywhere, but here is where I am at present.
One exclaimed "Welcome to***********"
Another pleaded "Drive Safely"
I don't feel any real comfort in being told their concerns for me entering what is I assume their representative district.
In fact it irritates me.
Is this infact allowed?
Roadside billboards of political party members should be reserved for the lead up canvassing period of an election. We aren't in that period yet ( but bring it on!) so somebody needs to get these Blueboys out of my face!
If there are more appearing around the nation, it would appear to me that it's a deliberate tactic by that party to play sly tricks on the populace. "Look at me. I'm a good guy" So "Keep me and mine in mind"
I'd rather see a cutout of a policeman waving hello.

Driving through the Midlands. Not sure how close I am to my rendezvous point. If only there were a sign…

The Summercove Hills
Parking up by Charles Fort is always easier than trying to get through Summercover near Kinsale. The road is very narrow and steep, both ways, if you’re trying to the to the Bulman Bar.
Those yellow diamond-shaped road signs are actually part of Ireland’s relatively recent road signage system. Before the 1970s, Ireland used the older British-style circular and triangular signs, but when the country adopted the Vienna Convention on Road Signs and Signals, they switched to these diamond-shaped warning signs, making Ireland one of the few English-speaking countries to use this continental European style. The “10%” gradient warning means the road drops 10 metres for every 100 metres travelled horizontally, which is steep enough that most driving instructors would consider it “character building” for learner drivers!
