USDA recommends sodium fluoride for killing cockroaches, because it acts as both a stomach poison and contact poison. That was in 1931. Today, people put it in their mouths while brushing their teeth and drink it in their water.

SODIUM FLUORIDE
It kills cockroaches and is somewhat poisonous to humans, so keep it away from children.
In 1931, they knew sodium fluoride was a poison. But today, governments add this pesticide to municipal water supplies.... and big corporations add it to toothpaste. 🤔

If you have cock roaches in your mouth, try brushing your teeth with added sodium fluoride.
The old-timers knew stuff that today's people have forgotten.
Sodium fluoride is poison.

yes. the species i feel the most sympathy for are the #roaches, because they are killed ON SIGHT...just for being alive.
no. i didnt always feel that way. i grew up to fear them and was deeply traumatized by being locked in infested rooms until i became terrified of them.
literally cos of #gaza, i realized how unfair it was to #genocide roaches just cos of my fear and lack of understanding.
so now, i leave them be cos they deserve life too and were born into lack and h8tred....just like me.

"Many thanks to Coby Schal, Blanton J. Whitmire Distinguished Professor of Entomology at NC State, for taking the time to talk to me about cockroaches."

Brisbane cockroaches vs Sydney cockroaches
Brisbane roaches
- light brown
- big booty
- everywhere all of the time
- like to fly suddenly at your face
- don't respect personal space (see open mouth as invitation)
- die dramatically in the middle of the floor
- kind of cute if you can overcome your gag reflex
- orange cats of the cockroach world
- paladins of chaosSydney roaches
- black
- size: petite giantess
- flightless
- loners but somehow there are millions of them
- always seem to be pregnant
- sneaky rogue class
- high dodge skill
- immune to everything, drink poison for breakfast
- would kill your family if they got the chance -

We have a bio active setup of #roaches going as feeder insects for our #BeardedDragon for a while now.
It’s had #isopods and #springtails from the start but now it seems like there’s mostly isopods. Am I blind or did our springtails die off? #AskFedi
I confess that our maintenance/feeding hasn’t been 100% on point; due to mental health junk. The roaches and isopods are thriving though. 🤷♂️

Call me superficial, but what first got me really excited about electronics were the boards and components, like mysterious jewelry from another world— and especially the little bespoke dev boards with interesting colors and patterns— and those inviting arrays of protoboard holes that seemed to whisper “modify me! make something cool!” Here are some beautiful components for you to enjoy. #electronics #arduino #lightBlueBean #segmentDisplay #computerscience #roaches #oled #atmega328p

Alex Wild got me interested in attaphila fungicola with this first super cute photo of the myrmecophilous roaches that live with leaf cutter (fungi farming) ants. I think their habit of harmlessly hitching rides on ants could inspire a line of adorable felt pillboxes. Can you see it? #ants #roaches #fashion

When I was growing up in #Sevilla, some shop owners had basements where they could keep groceries in low-light.low-humidity conditions and preserve them that way
That brought problem of smells, insects and pests
I remember a particularly lazy shopkeeper whose bizz was a nest of #Roaches
One day a large one wandered across the counter on its way to customers and that guy lovingly picked it up and turned it around to go on its way. From that day on,my mom told me not to go back there to buy anything
