  1. Got myself a used #POWKIDDY #RGB30 #RK3566 #RetroHandheld as a VERY belated birthday gift for myself! People seem to largely get this type of device for retro emulation but I am just as excited for #portmaster and #pico8 in a handheld form factor!

  2. made a small amount of progress ✨

managed to hack an existing image for the #Pine64 #SoQuartz blade for running #AlpineLinux and it works!

i felt that the #RK3566 chip was running a little hot so i decided to add a little heartsink as well

did a little test to see if the NVMe SATA adapter works by hooking up two spare harddrives i had, and they showed up on lsblk

now i just need to design the mounts for the blade and harddrives ✨

  3. Anyone using #rk3566 #RetroGaming #retrohandheld . I added btrfs support along with fixing ipv6 and new pmic driver for rk3566; automount and merged storage to #rocknix You'll likely want to create and populate the sdcard with btrfs with force-compress:zstd:5 on a beefy machine l. 4. The Geniatech XPI-3566-Zero

Although most single-board computers these days ship in a “full” Raspberry Pi 3/4/5 “B” form-factor or larger, I have been on the lookout for Zero variants for a long time, and the(...)

  5. NanoPi R3S is a tiny PC or router with 2 Gigabit Ethernet ports and an RK3566 processor

The FriendlyELEC NanoPi R3S is an inexpensive single-board computer that measures just 57 x 57mm (2.24″ x 2.24″) but features two USB ports, dual Gigabit Ethernet ports, and a microSD card reader.

With no DisplayPort or HDMI ports, this little computer could be a good solution for headless applications: you could use it as a cheap, tiny router or file server. But there’s also a MIPI-DSI […]

  6. BIGTREETECH launches BIGTREETECH Pi 2 single-board PC and CB2 compute module with RK3566 processor

The BIGTREETECH Pi 2 is a single-board computer with a 1.8 GHz Rockchip RK3566 quad-core ARM Cortex-A55 processor. While it looks a bit like a Raspberry Pi Model B, this little has a few things that Raspberry Pi’s computers lack including support for up to three storage devices (eMMC, SD card, and M.2 2242 PCIe 2.1 SSD) without the need for any add-on […]

  8. It seems to me that many #RetroHandhelds use the #RK3566 chip. So does the #OrangePi 3B. There's a build of #Batocera for it. It's got gigabit LAN, Wifi 5 and Bluetooth 5. I bet that would play up to PS1, and handle #retroAchievements just fine.

  9. @manuti The (currently) most recent u-boot is at github.com/Kwiboo/u-boot-build But it is a "generic" build so no idea if it properly enables everything on the M1S.

  11. @tbss @PINE64 uses the same WiFi chipset as so no, it won't fully work with . Not sure about WiFi on but you'll need blobs to boot it anyway as only has proprietary ATF (at least for now).

  12. PlanetPC XR is a Linux mini PC with a touchscreen display and ARM processor (crowdfunding)

Planet Computers makes smartphones that look like pocket computers thanks to their QWERTY keyboards that are (just barely) big enough for touch typing. And they function like pocket computers thanks to support for both Android and Linux software.
Now the UK-based company is branching out by launching a line of compact desktop computers. The PlanetPC XR series mini PCs […]
