#GarvaBridge where we started the walk, built as part of General Wade's military road in the 1730s. Impressive buttresses.

A redundant bridge in Glen Shirra. The river was "canalised" as part of the Spey Dam water extraction scheme in the 1940s, you can see it running across the pic behind the bridge. But I'm impressed that they left the bridge standing.

Great step forward for #Scotland’s Beaver 🦫 reintroduction programme

Releases of beaver families have been approved by #NatureScot at new Cairngorms National Park sites

NatureScot has today approved a licence for #CairngormsNationalPark Authority to release up to six #beaver families at agreed sites in upper #RiverSpey catchment.

The decision will help increase the current range of #beavers in Scotland.

Schotland in de herfst is bijzonder mooi. In september waren we in #Edinburg en omstreken. Deze foto is uit eerdere jaren en is van de river Spey gelegen in de #Speyside, daar waar de Malt whisky trail omheen cirkelt. Als je ooit besluit om #Schotland met een bezoek te vereren, doe dat dan in het voorjaar of najaar.
