Cutting Out Canyons
Over the millennia, the Colorado River has carved some of the deepest and most dramatic canyons on our planet. This astronaut photo shows the river near its dam at Lake Powell. The strip of white edging the lake is the “bathtub ring” that shows how the water level has varied over the years. The deep canyons — over 400 meters from the Horn in the center of the photo to the river beside it — throw shadows across the landscape. To reach these depths, the Colorado River incised its path into bedrock that was tectonically uplifted. (Image credit: NASA; via NASA Earth Observatory)

Farmers are upset at Council plans to redesignate 900 acres of highly productive farmland for urban development.
Then there's Riverbend -- the foolish plan to dump 660 houses in a known flood zone. But it'll be O'K... Napier Mayor Kirsten Wise "is confident the flood risk can be mitigated".
Some of our cities are being led by fools.

Just finished up a one-shot for the local RPG meetup I started.
I ran Riverbend, the Tunnel Goons based RPG about fantasy fishing adventures. It's got a fun little die-drop subsystem for the actual fishing part of the game. It's a zine game, so it can be picked up cheaply,
It went well - added 3 new players to the group.

I know most people are all cracked out about some other act in town here in Cincinnati this weekend, but #Garbage is playing #Riverbend #RiverbendCincinnati tomorrow night and I can’t fucking wait.
