It was a beautiful day to work outside here, made all the more special by the seal visiting (we live on the junction of the #Selby #Canal and non tidal part of the #RiverAire)
He has been about for a year of so hanging out with the cows and swans. This is the second time he has asked for me to open the lock gates for him.
I whistled him, as he got bored waiting and was swimming back to up the canal, as they were quite hard work today.
After swimming through he turned to say thanks 👍 -

@PKYo I live in Lock House on the #Haddlesey Flood #Lock on the #RiverAire end of the #Selby #Canal
The flood locks confuse even seasoned boaters especially when there is only a tiny difference between river level and canal so I often end up giving advice and a helping hand 👍
