I had a couple issues with the base game, but the DLC is possibly the finest deductive gameplay ever made.

Just as a comparison, I beat #RiseOfTheGoldenIdol + 2 DLCs in a quarter of the time it took me to give up on #BluePrince, and that was 95% no filler pure joy. As opposed to 30% solving fun puzzles and 70% rolling dice hoping to be allowed to solve some more puzzles 🥲

There’s something positive to be said about length in games I think; I feel it’s easier to really love a game if you’ve spent a long time on it. But most of that time has to be, you know, fun? 😅

Finished #RiseOfTheGoldenIdol and on the whole I think it's one of my favourite games of the year, and a noticeable improvement over the (already good) original.

I had the same issue with the game as its predecessor though, in that the final puzzle was far too much for my idiot brain and I ended up using a guide.

Does it take the shine off the ending? Yes. Would I have finished it without the guide? No.

Having an absolute blast with #RiseOfTheGoldenIdol.

The UI is a little more intuitive and works that little bit better on a controller, and the cases are a little tighter and less sprawling, which was my main issue with the first game.

I've fallen in love with the art style too. Once you see it in motion (ISH) it really pops alive. Lovely stuff.

This game has an atrocious UI for controller XD the mouse version seems good though.

I had issues with two puzzles in the late game, including an answer that made no grammatical sense (so I ruled it out as an option) (ಠ_ಠ)

Still, I’d recommend this game bc there’s nothing like the feeling of getting a deduction right – especially if, in doing so, you uncover some plot twist!
