I’m done! Transfers, drones, base and all. Sharing some final pictures. This was a fun project, and a great addition to my growing army. I’m particularly happy with how the glow effects turned out, since it was my first attempt at OSL, but I also see tons of room for improvement. I’m actually quite happy with how this turned out, all in all. Sure, some things could be improved, but overall I think it looks good, I had fun, and I got to test some new techniques, specifically dip my toe in OSL for the first time. Also, I still have transfers, the base and drones to go. First try, and this did not turn out the way I imagined. Glad I only tried it out on parts of the shield. I’ll basepaint over and try again. And this time I’ve actually read a little about glazing, so I’ll use lahmian medium instead of water to thin the paint down. Any other tips or suggestions are welcome! I can’t really tell if I’m happy or unhappy with this so far. I think it hinges very on the next steps where I’ll try to make a glow effect from the blue-white light emanating from inside the shield. I have this idea in my head about how I want it to look, or the effect I want to create, but I might not have the painting skills to pull it off in a convincing way.
