Terry Hall, in 1985, doing a 2 hour Radio Piccadilly show (with Timmy Mallet), playing records and talking about the people who inspired him! https://m.mixcloud.com/TimmyMallett/terry-hall-easter-special-piccadilly-radio-tx-8th-april-1985-tx-2100-2300/?fbclid=IwAR2Rgy-OFXNS4QxLNFPj2rOiKhMLdGi0zmad-vbXVCMvW_ob62Rcx66gdmc #TerryHall #RIPTerryHall #TheSpecials #TheColourfield #Music #Radio #Manchester #TwoTone #2Tone #TimmyMallet #Mixcloud #RIP #Culture

I think everyone should stream or buy either Ghost Town or Too Much Too Young and get The Specials to no 1 again for Christmas. #RIPTerryHall

The Fun Boy Three was the band Terry Hall, Neville Staples and Lynval Golding formed after leaving The Specials. I had not heard of them until now. Great sound. I wish the two tone movement had a bigger crossover in the U.S. #rockmusic #eighties #amlistening #RIPTerryHall

I am celebrating the life of #TerryHall, and realising what a fantastic contribution he made. After the great #rockagainstracism movement in the 70s, he was at the centre of the life-affirming multiracial 2 Tone with the Specials. Jerry Dammers wrote "Ghost Town", and went on to write "Free Nelson Mandela". Art CAN change the world.
I think "The Lunatics Have Taken Over the Asylum" should be played instead of national anthem on all official occasions during the mourning period for the brilliant Terry Hall!

Haven't seen this much massive, widespread love and respect for a UK musician since Bowie died. Lovely to see and well deserved.

When I was a teen growing up in the English Midlands in the late 70s/early 80s my pals & I would often hop on the bus to Birmingham & Coventry to see one of the #2Tone gigs w/ bands #TheSpecials, The Selector, The Beat & Madness. We danced, we sweated, we got drunk, we knew all the words. So I'm sad to hear of the death of #TerryHall of The Specials aged just 63. His lyrics spoke to me.

The soundtrack of my youth is one with the Specials. The bleak Thatcher era of the No Future Generation. He sang the original "fnck you - I won't do what you tell me" in many forms. In Rat Race, Do Nothing or Ghost Town e.g. He sang about discrimination, poverty, unemployment and violence. Saw them live a couple of times and they are still one of the best ever gigs. Thanks for the music and rest in power Terry Hall https://youtu.be/0S1BC0XVB6s #ripTerryHall #specials #TerryHall #Rip

“The bottom line is, respect each other, and love each other. It’s a bit idealistic, but it’s all that there is.”

Terry Hall: Hold my beer
We lost a good one, folks! :(

Sad to hear of the death of Terry Hall, which was, as they say, much too young.
Let's take a moment to remember one of his songs which, while dating from 1981, seems strangely relevant to the world in 2022.
