  1. @gloriousnoise #Rumours was a phenomenon. It’s like a #GreatestHits #Album. Every song has an iconic hook or riff. There’s no filler. Any one of them would be a career-defining smash hit single for an artist today, and there’s frickin’ 11 of them on the same release.

Very sad news last night. She was a wonderful songwriter & performer who added soul, depth & emotional maturity to #fleedwoodmac

I grew up listening to FM, my eldest brother bought #Rumours #vinyl in '77. Although he had lots of earlier Mac albums it's the one that stuck with me as a kid. Through the 80s of post-punk, synthpop, indie they were unfashionable. But I returned to them in 6th form when playing 'retro' music in the common room was cool again. My copy is from '87

  3. The bass line from "The Chain" will forever be the sound of #F1 for me. #RIPChristineMcVie

  4. It’s unbelievably sad, rest in power, rest in peace, sing forever, songbird.

  5. CW: RIP (Well Known)

What I love most about Christine McVie's writing is that she always got to the nugget of truth. Her words were not often ornate or tricky. But they were precisely judged and employed. Combined with melody, they channeled complexities and nuances in a way that feels like magic. But it was just skill.

  6. I worked at USC when the Tusk video was being filmed there. Could occasionally hear bits echoing. Had no idea it was Fleetwood Mac at the time.

  8. #RIPChristineMcVie I had a crush on Christine. This one hurts. She was brilliant. Listen to the records prior to Stevie and Lindsay. Here’s one of Christine’s great songs. via YouTube “Morning Rain" Fleetwood Mac - Future Games youtube.com/watch?v=e2GQm5TFnD

  9. Remember hiding on a boat with my first real boyfriend. Kissing, watching the sea and listening to Fleetwood Mac. #RIPChristineMcVie

  10. #RIPChristineMcVie I always loved when she'd front one of the Fleetwood Mac songs. Her voice held such power, yet so much empathy and tenderness too. apnews.com/article/christine-m
