The complaints of the Home Secretary about encryption run a little hollow. One of the big drivers for more end to end encryption was the #snowden revelations that governments were routinely recording everyone's private conversations all the time. The #RIPA still allows the authorities to access encrypted messages by getting a warrant and accessing one of the end points.
