Well not "at any cost" - but at some cost in compromise between what party activists would like and what the electorate will wear.
But after 4 election defeats in 13 years I want them to err on the side of caution rather than open up to attack in the hostile press.....a centre-left #labour is way better than a #rightPopulist #toriesOut govt.

I can't reach into the minds of the #labour leadership, but I suggest "having no plans to repeal" is not the same as "planning to retain unchanged"
We're in the "winning next election" stage of the electoral cycle - don't expect any party to commit to a policy that'd repel some who they imagine might vote for them
