Glitter Boy, kinda like a pip-boy but studded with diamonds, or maybe it has something to do with the twilight vampires that sparkle in the sunlight. It's time to sell weapons to the Coalition States the other guys are selling a Power Armor and a Battle Armor so to compete with that we will try to sell Glitter
So is it easy to technology that the glitter boy is a terrible name and should be something else? No, according to the fans i argued with the glitter is the correct name and it could not possibly be anything else. Is there an explanation on why it is called a Glitter Boy? Attention Palladium and Rifts fans in the Madison, Wisconsin area, the east side HPB has over a dozen of their softcovers in good condition and relatively cheap. Somebody sold their entire collection!

I still have a fondness for Palladium RPGs, but I mostly only collect them these days using the annual holiday bundle. I’m unlikely to actually use the system, but they are fun books to mine for ideas.
I got the two Rifts China books, and two fantasy books, Balgor Wastes and Eastern Kingdoms.
It does make me think about what system I would use if I were to run something in the setting.

I actually played more Palladium Fantasy than AD&D when I was young.

NEMA troops have mobilized, and the USA-G10 Chromium Guardsmen and Silver Eagle SAMAS power armors are deployed by the thousands to try to restore order to the chaos. They are trained in combat, riot control, rescue, and humanitarian operations.

The only good news is that the volcanic ash, which is now up to 15 feet deep in the western half of North America and 2-3 feet deep elsewhere, has buried the millions of dead and prevented serious outbreaks of disease and decay.

The world has ended. Worldwide communications have completely collapsed - in some cases even city blocks are cut off from their neighbors. Across the globe, temperatures have dropped by 30-40 degrees, plunging the world into a deep winter.

It is a garbled message that reports continuing disasters, panic, and “extreme chaos”. The planet is completely cloaked by the spreading ash, storms, and strange disturbances. The Earth is, for all intents and purposes, gone.

Estimates suggest that one third of the world's population has been lost, and computer models estimate 30-40% more will perish, worldwide, within the next 6 months.

A third of all satellites are knocked offline, space stations scramble to respond to crashing systems, and moonquakes damage the Cyberworks Aerospace Network moon base. Detroit-Windsor, St. Louis, the Ohio Valley, and other locations across the globe contain intersections of hundreds of these blue lines of energy, with dozens of points of super-activity that can be easily seen from space. Initial reports from space confirm the existence of over 5000 lines of unknown energy, with thousands of intersections. They also confirm 33 volcanic eruptions, 119 tidal waves, 47 freak storms, and mass destruction.

Walls of blue energy have appeared in Detroit and Windsor, wall from which “demons and monsters” are said to be pouring into the streets. Chicago, Toronto, and a hundred other cities report the same blue walls of energy, the same monsters.

The President of the United States, in Colorado for a speech, survives the initial destruction and is safely ensconced at NORAD in the Cheyenne Mountains. NEMA and the nation's military go on high alert while fantastic and unbelievable reports continue to pour in.

Tidal waves a thousand feet tall rush a hundred miles inland, washing away everything - forests, people, whole cities. Boston, Manhattan, San Diego, Los Angeles, Seattle - all destroyed. The Bermuda Triangle becomes a zone of white mist and crackling blue energy. Any vessels that enter it vanish, never to be seen again.

The West Coast shares the same fate as seas rise to swallow coastal areas around the world, dormant volcanoes erupt with explosive fury, massive earthquakes topple cities along every fault line, and freak and savage storms appear that cover half the continent. Cuba, Haiti, and Florida are engulfed in a category 5 hurricane the size of Texas.

Contact with half the world is lost in the first few seconds. Those that can get reports of the destruction cannot believe what they hear. In the United States New York City, Washington D.C., and the entire Eastern Seaboard are just... gone. Tens of millions of lives add their energy to the cataclysm.

December 22nd, 2098 - Day One
South America feels it first. 30 seconds later, North America and Australia. Ley lines, blue lines of energy erupt out of the ground, crossing at places long held to be spiritual or holy. But before anyone can even recognize the event, human civilization is completely collapsed.

These lines, magnified by the alignment of the planets and the hour of midnight when the first attack struck, roared to life in a way not seen in 150 million years. A moment later the retaliatory strike sent the life force of millions of more lives coursing through the now active ley lines, causing a power surge that raged across the globe in under three minutes and starting a chain reaction of death and destruction. Magic had returned to the world.

In response to the battle, the two South American nations strike at each other with a very limited exchange of nuclear weapons. Millions of lives are snuffed out in an instant. The life energy released ignited ley lines, blue lines of energy that have always criss-crossed the globe, but had lain dormant for millennia.

Their forces were annihilated by the technological might of the G10's. When the battle was over, just one short hour later, 12,000 soldiers and the town of Guada Marta had been obliterated. 24,000 civilians were dead, and only 1,800 soldiers and 13,000 civilians managed to escape. Of the 12 power armor suits, several were severely damaged and just a single G10 had been destroyed.

These incredibly powerful armored suits were to be used only for “defense under extreme duress”, but the nation defied these conditions and sent them against enemy forces active within their own borders. During this altercation the power armor suits routed the enemy and pursued them across the border, into enemy territory. The troops pressed on to destroy several innocent villages, and the nation under siege responded with a full army battalion.

Most people would never know how the end of the world began. While most nations struggled peacefully through this “new Cold War”, others became violent and unstable. Two such small nations clashed repeatedly in South America. One of these was an ally of the old USA, and NEMA was ordered to support this South American ally with a dozen suits of USA-G10 power armor, known as Chromium Guardsmen.

Technological wonders continued to improve life, and most believed that this slowdown was simply a return to responsibility, a transition to an era of even greater advancement and prosperity.

Humanity realized how recklessly it had thrown itself into science without thinking through the ramifications of its discoveries. Suspicion and bickering replaced openness and cooperation, but for the most part peace still reigned.
