  1. I can’t stop writing riffs for a Metroidvania game soundtrack that I haven’t played because it doesn’t exist.

  3. It’s in much better shape than I was initially worried about. The action was horrible, intonation atrocious.

It doesn’t have a truss rod, but it does have a crude neck tilt adjustment screw system. I loosened the strings and neck screws, made a couple tweaks of the neck tilt adjustment, slid the bridge around a smidge and bingo, it’s likely as playable as any 1457 ever has been.

Some fresh strings and a careful/thorough cleaning and I’m good to go.

  5. I picked up a cheap (as they should be) mid-60's Silvertone 1457 yesterday. It is _proper_ grimy and needs _a lot of work_, but now I can live out my Christina Billotte dreams.

She posted a photo of hers recently. It's the same one she's been playing for over 35 years. Survivor!

  7. We’re halfway though #RIFFebruary and so far I’ve managed to write/record/“””mix”””/share (in a private group chat with my bandmates) a new riff/songlet every single day.

And yes, my band’s songs are best described as “songlets” or randomly jumbled together piles of riffs.

  9. I’m selling an old Yamaha MU5 MIDI sound generator.

You already know that to test it properly, I had to use my (headless) #guitar and guitar-to-#MIDI converter so I could play the steel drum patch on the MU5.

    Again: you already knew this.

  11. Uh oh, an impulse buy at the guitar shop the other day has turned into an addiction.

I can’t let myself turn off my TC Electronic Sub’n’Up octaver pedal.

  13. With #Jamuary over, I’ve moved on to #RIFFebruary, but that’s just me recording guitar/synth riffs and putting them in the /riffbank shared folder with my bandmates, to use for our next record.
