Pittsburgh Regional Transit attributes recent service disruptions to #ransomware attack

"A recent ransomware attack is causing significant #disruptions to #PublicTransportation in the Pittsburgh area.

The public transport authority in the #Helsinki region is starting a new approach to get more ridership: shorten the headways at off peak times to get good service throughout the day and on weekends, on routes that already have quite good ridership.

And yes, this is the way to get more passengers, I believe. An allday everyday useful service on routes that have the potential users really can boost the #ridership.

While most people are indulging themselves in the Budget 2024 debate, there was interesting post by someone talking about a remote #MRT station, the 16 Sierra.

The #station is so #remote that the nearest civilisation to it is some 500 metres away and it is practically impossible to #walk to the station at night.

It’s so bad, the second least used station literally has 2x the #ridership of 16 Sierra.
