  1. Party preference tickets were abolished in #Australia after the 2013 #election, in which a #workingClass gentleman, named #RickyMuir was elected.

    There was nothing particularly bad about Ricky — like there was nothing bad about parties preferences. The big problem with publicly available #PartyPreferences is that:

    a) they required majorParties to talk to minorParties,

    b) forced majorParties to publicly rank parties (though vote splitting was possible),

    c) they're not entirely predictable…1/2

    But in 2017 #policyMakers ditched the Preferences system because it elected one #workingClass person into the senate in 2015, a #carEnthusiast named #RickyMuir. The professional managerial class went positively psychotic, whipping #middleClass #aussies into a frenzy, "How could this be!?", was the verbal diarrhea spewing from the waterCooler.

  3. One of the #corporateMedia's reasons for existing is to turn #Australia into a polarised country with #twoTribes at war – Liberal and Labor.

    Over time they've lampooned #thirdParties, into non-existence (see the emotionally driven attacks on #RickyMuir (2015) that saw a perfectly sound, *and revealing* #PartyPreferences method of #voting get abolished! Also attacks on #AustralianDemocrats (late 90s) who were secured important concessions to the #GST, that everyone benefits from today), or…(1/2)
