We rewatched the first half of the (1978) Superman movie. I forgot how much of a slow burn it starts. It’s 48 minutes before Christopher Reeve shows up on screen. It’s an hour and change before Superman does.

I can tell it’s before PG-13 was invented, because despite the genocide of an entire species or a guy getting run over by a train it’s PG.

I also forgot Mario Puzo (Godfather) was the writer. What a crazy era.

Tutto il cinema di #richarddonner è molto "derivativo" e le citazioni sono sempre presenti; tuttavia sono spunti ben interpretati e molto interessanti: il #film del resto è una #vademecum degli #anni80 che vengono qui dipinti come l'epoca del divertimento nella scoperta, dove un film per ragazzi raccoglie quei topoi letterari del genere giovanile (l'#Isoladeltesoro) per esprimere con l'audiovisivo questa pulsione universale e inarrestabile quasi come in un romanzo di formazione 3/N

Devo dire che il #film è invecchiato in maniera accettabile dal #1985, tuttavia mi ha fatto riflettere su come il #cinema , ma anche il mondo, siano cambiati profondamente rispetto agli #anni80 : #richarddonner per esempio inserisce una marea di citazioni esplicite ed omaggi ad altri film (Superman, che è un suo film, ma pure 007, o i predatori dell'arca perduta, etc etc) cosa che oggi sarebbe difficile attuare per motivi di diritti, product placement e marketing in generale... 2/N

Stasera ho fatto vedere i #Goonies a mia figlia settenne e ce lo siamo rivisto pure noi, con grande piacere 🤠

#RichardDonner era un mito che non ha bisogno di presentazioni: già era diventato tale prima di questo film (basti pensare a pietre miliari come #Superman, #LadyHawk o #TheOmen) ma dopo continuò cmq a lavorare ad alto livello e anche come #produttore (basti pensare che #X-Men lo ha prodotto lui nel 2000)
