Last weekend I visited the HI-SCORE interactive video game museum in Hanover. It was great!
Tried out a bunch of arcade machines. Rhythm games aren’t really my thing, but watching other people play them is oddly fun.

After several days of diving into the “5fret” gaming universe I can say the following:
Crkd Pro Guitar while well built is a handful to get working right with almost any game. And when it’s “working” I’d argue it’s still really not. Ie Fortnite festival.
YARG while relatively stable just feels very basic. Songs are very sporadic in quality and it feels nothing like the older games in terms of fit and finish. Despite everyone saying how much more modern and good these types of games are ..
Guitar Hero World Tour PC works and is pretty feature full but it’s unstable as all hell.
Expect a lot of time with trail and error and downloading things to use: songs, emulators, mods ect ..
And if you get everything going and working, still your loved ones will look at you funny as you try to get everyone to gather around your computer to play. All and all I feel like for most people it won’t be worth the trouble not until a new successful mainstream modern game is released.

Rhythm games are peculiar because true mastery requires mastery of the hardware as well!

First impressions of In Falsus, the upcoming lowiro rhythm game:
Very crisp and responsive controls! Having to shift 3 fingers to hit the center 4 notes along with moving the mouse has a novel feeling that really captures my attention.
The 5 songs in the demo are all bangers. I was able to clear all but the hardest chart when I really locked in.
The hint of VN story is intriguing, and points to a yuri apocalypse.
Keep an eye on this one, they may be a match for DJ MAX. -

if you're this desperate to move away from discord but you consider guild system essential, try hopping on root and see if it's your thing
if you're looking for E2EE and decentralization then scroll, that's not it
while it's in its infancy, imo it has ok foundation to be the more "normie" alternative; there's screensharing and VCs already, unfortunately no custom emojis/stickers (yet)there's some issues with TOS but the devs clarified it will be officially rewritten - people got scared about "no porn" but it has been addressed that's not the case and it will be yoten from the guidelines

It's almost done!!
The battery on my dremel-like tool died so I can't finish smoothing out the edges, but I did a test fit on the broken controller I bought to use for parts and I love it! It's such a small thing, but when I put this on my main controller and replace the neck, the main controller is going to look like a plastic replica of my main guitar. Even seeing this parts-controller has me grinning ear to ear!#DIY #GuitarHero #RockBand #YARG #CloneHero #RhythmGames #RhythmGaming

Life took some turns so progress has been slow while life events took priority, but I'm finally back at this project! So far I've verified my dremel-like tool can cut through the pickguard material, but it's kind of slow. To make things easier on myself, I got out my cordless drill and used its largest bit to drill a bunch of holes along the pickguard's outline. This is going to be so cool when it's done!

Fixed automounting a network share (via SMB) on my Bazzite install by noticing I was using a mix of capital and lowercase letters for the same folder, once I made it all the same it's working! And hey, YARG has zero issues running with a song library hosted off of my NAS!
Next up is importing songs from the RB3DX setup I had on my 360, but it's almost 6 AM and I should probably get some sleep at some point...
