His focus has been on Rhone varieties and Chardonnay from some of the best cool climate vineyards in Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo Counties. Bob Lindquist is a pioneer in the Central Coast. He made the first Syrah in Santa Barbara County in 1982; he made the first Marsanne made in California and the first cool climate Bien Nacido Syrah in 1987; he made the first Red Rhone blend in Santa Barbara in 1988; He made the first Viognier in Santa Barbara in 1989.
