Fantastic gig last night at the Home Bar by Rhodri Davies supported by Elaine Cheng. This was Flux 2.2, the latest in a series of (excellent) experimental music nights happening in Edinburgh.

Davies’ harp-playing is transformative and mesmeric; it felt both truly contemporary and immediate, yet also viscerally ancient, almost as though the instrument itself is somehow connected to soil and trunk, and the musician’s fingers summon shades from some thin place just at the edge of hearing.

I discovered by chance today that Flux Gigs & Sonically Depicting are hosting Rhodri Davies & Elaine Cheng for a show on 17 June at the Home Bar in Edinburgh.
