I saw my #Rheumatologist in person today for the first time since #Humira caused my liver and kidney debacle. She listened to me. She explained why she isn't keen on what I want (my #Methotrexate back), but she understands why I want it. In the end, she came up with a treatment plan that is aggressive (more #Inflectra more often and a wee methotrexate dose) but will hopefully not send my liver and kidneys into a spiral. I left her office feeling heard. 🩷 Such a gift to a patient. #NEISVoid

I sent my #Rheumatologist an email with a question about our discussion of switching meds. She responded with a script for one that we hadn't discussed. I followed up by asking about the one we did discuss and pointed out the new one isn't on my plan's formulary. Someone from her office called and basically bullied me into accepting that I'm wrong about what plan I have and what the formulary says before proceeding to tell me there is zero difference between the two drugs. 1/2

🇬🇧 'Rheumatoid factor (RF) is seen in about half of patients w/ Sjogren's, such as erosions on xray/ MRI. RF is not specific to RA. However, there are other things that support an RA diagnosis. Important to know bc many RA drugs like TNF inhibitors are not effective for Sjogren's'.

The last few years have been torrid for me with constant #neurological flares. @nicedragon I am diagnosed by #NHS as having both #MyalgicEncephalomyelitis aka #ChronicFatigueSyndrome and #Fibromyalgia. Large numbers of #pwME have both. A #rheumatologist diagnosed the latter and my local hospital‘s #endocrinology dept. (specialising in inter alia #ME ) confirmed my G.P.‘s diagnosis of the former.

Five years of hand and foot #arthritis I use a couple of ketoprofen ( trials show better than ibuprofen for arthritis) a week but my lifesaver has been topical #cbd oil several times a day. #swiss #rheumatologist now prescribes it for me. Battling with #unsmis health insurance to cover though.
