I think I've fixed the problem I was having with my #powkiddyRGB30 . I got a new SanDisk ultra 16gb SD card and flashed it with #ArkOS. I haven't had an issue with my games going missing after several reboots so hopefully this is the end of it! Had to reinstall all my ports but it was doable.

I see there was another JELOS update yesterday, 20240121, for all devices. Woot! Under the Change Log, there is "Fixes a long standing issue with RK3566 devices causing drain after being charged while devices are powered off." So no longer coming back to the RGB30 after a few days of non-use and seeing it's nearly dead? That will be awesome!

I just finished playing Legend of #Zelda: Oracle of Seasons on the #Gameboy Color (via #RGB30). What a great game! Lots of complex puzzles and challenging boss fights, and really cute graphics.

Even better, I had no idea that Seasons interacts with its sister title "Oracle of Ages" via a password system. Complete one game and it gives you a password which you enter into the other game... this lets you play through the other game as a sequel, with modified plot and extended ending!

Today I did the dpad fix on my #rgb30.
When I was at it I replaced the thumb stick, too. I used the Anbernic RG353M hall-sensor analog sticks as replacement. The ones that are pre-installed are not bad but they were just normal ones. The next thing I did was replacing the a,b,x,y buttons with colored Playstation look alike buttons. I wanted a little color.
Best thing: Nothing broke and the rgb30 is still working 😉

I was lucky enough to be gifted a #Powkiddy #RGB30 handheld for my birthday, and I've had a few weeks to play with it now... So what's it like?

Well, it's great... it's big selling point is the lovely 1:1 screen, which is big, bright and clear. It makes it absolutely perfect for #Gameboy, #NGPC and #GameGear games, as well as #NES and #SNES at 8:7. Gameboy Color is especially nice on it.

I got the yellow version, which is close to "spice orange" in person, for fans of that GameCube variant.

Trying to install GTA 3 on my #RGB30, just need to install windows in a VM to extract the files.

My case protector for the #Powkiddy #RGB30 is complete. In combination with a glass protector, it should shield my powkiddy from falls, scratches and other abuse. I also added a subtile #pico8 logo on the back. This case is meant to be flexible and should be printed in #TPU or a similar flexible filament.

I have really fell in love with this device and took it on a recent trip abroad where I used it constantly. #3dprinting

I cannot wait to get this thing. I already have an assortment of various Retroid Pockets, but the screen on this seems to be the perfect aspect ratio for the systems I usually tend to play! 😁

I bought a #Powkiddy #RGB30 for #Pico8 game development and as a dedicated pico-8 gaming device. The RGB30 doesn't come with a case, so I decided to model one. Before starting, a reference model is useful to work with in order to keep the design in scope. @icegoat @johanpeitz I have been eyeing this device since release for dedicated #pico-8 gaming and testing. Agreed, WiFi/scp makes a solid addition to streamlining the build pipeline. I have been using the Anb. #RG353V, but the #RGB30 screen makes me jealous.

Bought a Powkiddy #RGB30 handheld. The square screen is a great match for PICO-8, and pixel-perfect 5x scaling of the 128x128 #PICO8 resolution looks good with a small unused border. Checking the scaling was a fun excuse to put the screen under a microscope...

I also like that I can run real PiCO8 (not an emulator) + WiFi, meaning I can use SPLORE to browse PICO8 games, or use scp to quickly copy over my own WIP games without fiddling with SD cards.

Every time I go though a #pico8 phase I renew my search for the ideal handheld to play it on.

Well the new #rgb30 by #powkiddy is on its way and it looks very promising.

I need to toot the rgb30 hashtag so I can follow it, because apparently I'm an early adopter for the first time since the original Nintendo DS got released...
