I'm going for a #trip today that will take half a day. That means it'll be the first lengthy chance at portable gaming on the road with my #NintendoSwitch and #Anbernic #RG35XX SP. I will also make some time to read on my #Kobo as well.

So, I either finish a #book, do a bunch of #DragonQuestXI or do a bunch of #FireEmblem Blazing Blade—or fall asleep the whole trip.

I've really been getting into #retrogaming.

So far I've bought an #anbernic #rg353vs, #rg405v, #rg35xx, and a #miyoominiplus. That's in addition to the #New3DSXL, #GameBoyAdvance, and #GameBoyAdvanceSP I already have. What's really bad is I keep looking at the horizontal #handhelds as well.

I think I might have a problem.

I got two shipping notifications in one day. My #Kenough hoodie has shipped it's in north china presently and my #RG35XX has a tracking number :D :D

Anyone with an #anbernicRG35xx running #garlicOS know how to turn on turbo fire in the #picoDrive core? #retroArch

I have options for it, but not in the input config where I could enable it on certain buttons.

The #GBA / #GB / #NES cores all have turbo buttons auto-configged on the X/Y buttons, but not the #Genesis / #MegaDrive

I downloaded a very carefully curated collection of ROMs for #miyooMini #onionOS and it's got screenshots, and cover art and logos in the thumbnails!!

Trouble is that the #GarlicOS theme I'm using displays text over the thumbnails and it looks kinda like trash.

I wonder if it's possible to have #retroArch render the thumbnails over the #ROMs list when available.

I installed #GarlicOS on my #rg35xx, and the "Nothing" skin.

I'm having trouble playing #SegaCD #ROMs. My files are unzipped .bin/.cue files, that play fine in #KegaFusion.

Both #Picodrive and #GenesisPlus fail to load them.

I'm gonna have to get a lot better with #retroArch

I decided to comb through the ROM library that came with the #anbernicRG35xx and build a list of my favorites and it's got a pretty great library.

There's a lot of Japanese versions sprinkled around, and #Mario and #Tetris are notably missing. The #Playstation library is the least complete, but it's there.

There are some great #arcade #ROMs, like #FantasyZone 2 "tears of opa opa" that I've never seen.

I think my goal with my #rg35xx is just to have something that I can keep basically every game made before t2000 so that whenever I ask someone what they favorite game as a kid was I can hand it to them and tell them to show it to me. #retroGaming #emulation #anbernic #AnbernicRG35XX #retrogames #videoGames

I'm getting anxiety about the #anbernicRg35xx I ordered as I see more and more about the #miyooMiniPlus.

I was pretty disappointed with the OS on my #anbernic #rg350 and seeing #OnionOS made me want to try out another #retrogaming #handheld. Seeing #BlackSeraph's #RetroArch release #GarlicOS for the #rg35xx convinced me to pull the trigger and get one.

But I keep hearing about the #miyooMini's #OnionOS and how it's continuing to be developed and I'm getting FOMO.

I decided to buy an #anbernicRG35XX when I saw #GarlicOS

A big part of the reason I stopped using my previous #Anbernic was the janky OS, so I'm stoked to see how it handles #PS1 and #Saturn games.

I picked up a 256GB card for the firmware and a 512GB card for the CD based ROMs. I wonder if I can fit all the games from my childhood on one device.

i feel like i won tonight!

moving to the new sd card is quite a pain, because my read speed is limited. i wrote the stockFW/pre-loaded ROMS to the hard drive instead of the SSD because of limited space.

but the joy! oh the joy of updated firmware --> added scaling options! the joy of added games getting detected! ♥️

probably won't be moving to cfw any time soon. once i get more hours, i'll look into running dos games ☺️
