Thieves stole equipment from the Gleniffer Bushfire Brigade
"Sometime in the last 24hours (probably last night) Gleniffer Rural Fire Brigade Station was broken into.
A steel panel next to the door was forced and the door opened from the inside. A considerable amount of valuable brigade equipment has been stolen including chainsaws and pumps.""This theft of equipment has seriously impacted the brigade's ability to respond to any fires, we are currently "offline"/unable to respond and will remain so for some time, any fire calls will need to be responded to by other brigades increasing the time taken to attend."
One wonders about the various fire permits in the Gleniffer area that have been issued with RFSNSW in heatwave conditions...Will the (local) Fire Control Centre be able to withdraw them on time?
