I had enough meetings this morning that I finally finished my #ReynaKAL! And I've really enjoyed watching everyone else's progress on it, thanks for sharing! I'm not thrilled about the yarn I used, but the shawl was immediately snatched up and worn by my 11yo, so it's a success.
I'm going to a conference next week, so I need a new #knitting project that will keep me focused: not too complicated to keep me from listening to talks, but complicated enough to be interesting. Suggestions?

Almost bailed on this or changed yarns. But then spent serious time with washed-blocked swatch. So valuable! Conclusions:
🧶 Yes fabric *barely* holds together, but it does hold
🧶 White linen is lace weight, I'm ok with lace effect it gives
🧶 In addition to blocking I will iron this to set stitches
🧶 I still love design and look of it!

The bind off i-cord on this #ReynaKAL was a good move. It adds some "weight" to the edge. The RS is the lower edge, the WS i-cord edge is above.

I did it! My #ReynaKAL is (almost) done! I just need to block. Am saving up for blocking mats, pins and wires. It came out at a relaxed 60" across the top, and I think with blocking I can get another 10"-15" in width. That was one serious game of yarn chicken! More pix posted below. Medical aide is holding shawl. She's a knitter too!

@ramblindragon I'm trying this - 2 bands of mesh followed by 8 rows (4 ridges) of garter, then another 2 bands of mesh, and now more garter. Then maybe a picot bindoff? Or more mesh, more garter, then pivot maybe. IDK! Will see how tiny that ball becomes!

@Knitronomicon Wow I did not know these ratios, that is so helpful! Waiting to get my bank account turned around, I'm in the negative until probably next month - life as a disabled person. I do have a scale picked out in Amazon basket, so soon! I can 100% see the value of it as I confront this yarn issue. Right now it measures 50" across, much smaller than I'd like. So I'm debating introducing a new skein in a complimentary color, doing a wide border with made-up mesh pattern. Maybe?
