#Reddit is down lol.
I've built enough web platforms to guess that this probably isn't them taking it down on purpose. I suspect the #redditblackout is causing unanticipated traffic patterns.
I bet it's something like this: There's some legacy microservice that gets called every time you visit a private sub that no one has thought about for 3 years. Suddenly it's under heavy load, went down, took something else with it, and no one who wrote it is around anymore.
