In April, I've participated in the Paint Over Fast Competition at Revision 2026.
⭐ Finishing Touches ⭐ (inspired by a chaos picture) was created within less than 24 hours including sleep and breaks.

I’ve clearly been red-and-white-checker-pilled. Yesterday I became obsessed with what appeared to be a boing ball on the side of the tennis court on TV, then today every time I’ve watched a leaf fall from a tree (there are a lot of trees here, even at the airport) it’s made me think of desire/tte’s amazing “second nature” demo for amiga ocs.
It's stream time!
Recapping Revision, giving a tiny bit of a demoscene intro and then going through the compo winners and my favorites.

I keep forgetting that I did an interview with https://ericade.radio on Thursday night. Not sure if they put them out as podcasts or whether it was just for the live audience. Considering I’m kind the ultimate slacker in the demoscene it was a privilege… and I was the first scener they talked to during @revisionparty . It was a good laugh and I don’t think I said anything _too_ stupid. I may have said nice things about @Truck .
Okay, so I dabbled some more with TiXL at Revision and I now am so comfortable with the graph stuff I accidentally ended up making a fancy audio visualization.
⁃ While it was about 30 mins walk from e-werk I just took a cab… costs can add up of course, but man, it was so much easier (use both FreeNow and Uber - I prefer FreeNow but I found their drivers can be flakey about showing up on a couple of occasions)
⁃ Get to e-werk soon after doors open on Friday (12-12:30pm), find a spot and make it yours. In future I will take a hoodie or something to put on my chair because certain people (*cough* the people dressed up as fractals) will steal your chair. Repeatedly.
⁃ Avoid steel (scener) as he’s a PITA
⁃ If you can do the shuttle buses to/from FRA then it’s a better option than trusting the German rail system
⁃ Talk to folk around you - they share your passion/weirdness. I randomly met a bunch of amazing people.
⁃ Dance.

Anyways, now that all that is over but the teardown, if you, the person reading this, saw like 500 posts about #RevisionParty2026 on your timeline and/or watched the stream and thought „boy! that looks like fun! i want to go someday! but I don’t have a release and I am not sure my skillz are Elite enough!“ and haven’t heard people say the same thing on discord or on stream enough, this is my post letting you know that you don’t need to bring anything but yourself, you *will* be welcome, and you really, truly can and should just go to a demoparty. the regret rate for newcomers I talked to, any year, is literally zero percent. see you next year, maybe! :hecker:
Omg that was the absolute best time. My (young) heart wants it to go on forever but my (old) body thinks it’s a good time to head off.
I can’t describe how good it was to catch up with old friends and make new ones.
Thanks so much to all the amazing orgas and volunteers that made it happen.
It’s a ray of sunshine in a pretty grim world right now.
Pleasant campfire smell in the airport shuttle #RevisionParty2026
I GUESS I have to come back to revision next year in order to collect my free beer from @h0ffman ;)
Last night was incredible! Shoutouts to everyone who submitted a prod. You have until 10:00 to get your votes in, and prizegiving starts at 11:00. See you there! #RevisionParty2026
Good morning, and goodbye #RevisionParty2026!
Already in my train back home (otherwise I'd arrive way too late).
This year was awesome and it was great meeting you all again :pixel_love:
This was only my third revision, but it’s been the best for me. The first blew my mind esp since I hadn’t experienced anything like it, but I’m shy and didn’t talk to many folk. The second was complicated for reasons not down to the event itself (and the weather sucked :) ). But this one has been so incredibly satisfying and enjoyable - met so many awesome folk, caught up with scene friends, and the overall quality of the productions has been so high. I feel like I found my groove.
It’s so hard to convey why the demoscene and parties are so great to folk outside the scene, but I think a lot of it comes down to the fact that sceners gather to create these incredible works of art purely for the love it. That’s so rare in the world in this day and age. Such an inspiring experience. And the people who attend are so lovely.
AAAAAAAAMMMMMMMMMMMIIIIIIIIGGGGGGGGGGAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!
