I can't get Generation X to run to conclusion on my Amiga 500 (1MB OCS, ECS Agnus). It always hangs with a red screen a short while after the "press RMB for secret music disk" part. Since that thing uses weird MFM encoding for the disk, it might be the diskette? Or the disk drive?
Has anyone run this demo successfully from diskette? @chainq maybe?
Is there a FlashFloppy firmware that supports the weird ADF file?

Otro de los concursos que sigo con interés es el Wild Compo. Este es el cajón desastre para demos que no caben en otro apartado (es decir, no son de PC ni ordenadores y consolas retro). Aquí la gente inventa cosas muy locas y divertidas.
La ganadora este año, READY?, es una demo hecha en la pantalla de un osciloscopio. Es decir, un aparato para observar visualmente las señales eléctricas, lo que quiere decir que para que se vea eso en pantalla han tenido que generar una señal eléctrica que forme esa onda... alucinante.

Por último, me gustaría añadir un vídeo guapísimo que la organización lanzó hace un par de días con un "timelapse" de todo el evento condensado en una hora. Empieza el día 31 de marzo con el montaje y acaba el 4 de abril con todo empaquetado. Merece mucho la pena irlo viendo a saltos.

Normalmente mi concurso preferido es el de demos PC 4K, pero este año no hubo ninguna que me impactara (algo como este Chromatofores del año pasado https://youtu.be/vWKHBPDrh14, o Road Trip de 2023 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kb7ZtsbQNsM)
Sin embargo en el concurso de PC 8K la ganadora, Aenigma, me alucinó desde que estaba viéndolo en directo: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6kgRBxQnsjs
Recomiendo estas demos descargarlas (https://demozoo.org/productions/390002/) y ejecutarlas en el propio ordenador. La mayoría son para Windows, eso sí, porque aprovechan las directX para hacer su magia.
En las demos de PC sin límite de tamaño este año ganó una que es una auténtico chute de historia y nostalgia realizado con muchísima finura y arte. La demo celebra los 40 año del grupo en la demoscene, pero si te gusta la informática y llevas unos años en este mundillo es difícil verla sin que el corazón se remueva un poquito.

Ya ha pasado una semana de que terminó la #revision2026 y, como otros años, voy a hacer un pequeño resumen de algunas creaciones que me han gustado.
Voy a empezar con el concurso de ANSI/ASCII/PETSII, es decir, imágenes hechas con caracteres de ordenador (letras, números y símbolos que se pueden sacar del propio teclado). No es porque Almighty God sea amigo mío, pero The Wind, que quedó segunda en el concurso es una maravilla visual (y creo que se merecía el primer premio).

Soy muy fan de las demos de pequeño tamaño. Me parece alucinante descargarse un archivo de solo 4Kb y ver una maravilla visual y sonora en la pantalla.
Así que voy a empezar con la ganadora del concurso de 256 bytes, pero que en este caso es una demo de 16 bytes... sí 16 numeritos de 0 a 255 es lo único que hace falta para este: Rainbow Surf

Today is Tuesday. The day after #revision2026 (@revisionparty) Time to watch all the gorgeous demos created over the last few days as well as the sessions shared on YouTube.
Let's start with the winner for PC demo: #Razor1911 - you might know this name for some of their.. work. (I always find this overlap between art, cracking, and “professional work” (e.g. DICE and Remedy) very interesting).
(PC demo is usually the least interesting for me, but this is one is special)

I also got 6th place at oldskool music which is really good for me too.
I travelled all the way from Buenos Aires to this great event and I return more than satisfied with the experience!
