  3. Oh ya! Our 800 tankless system has been installed, the assembly and starting up was a charme. What a difference.

  4. Is #FilteredWater healthier than tap water?... (It doesn't really go into #PitcherFilters)

Thankfully, #filters can help remove these harmful chemicals (PFAS-"forever chemicals." ) In a paper published in 2020, Knappe and his fellow researchers discovered that #ReverseOsmosis and #TwoStageFilters that are installed under sinks (which have mechanical and activated carbon filters), are capable of removing nearly all the PFAS they evaluated.

  5. I've always been lucky enough to live where there is good tap , but now I have softened water that I need to filter it in some way. What's the most economical, lowest-plastic way to go about getting decent quality water? Water filter pitcher? ? Go buy spring water in big jugs?

I need decent water for !

  6. According to a new study, reverse osmosis, a process that uses membranes to filter water, has been misunderstood for decades. The study reveals that the conventional theory of reverse osmosis is wrong and that the membranes act as selective solvents, not sieves. The study could lead to more efficient and affordable water purification technologies and help address the global water crisis.

  7. “A new paper showing how water actually travels through a plastic membrane could make desalination more efficient.”

I confess I had no idea that the theory behind reverse osmosis was suspect, but it new understanding reduces the energy required to purify water that’s a great result.

  8. @SkepticalEye Reverse osmosis produces several gallons of wastewater for every gallon of "pure" water it produces. It's incredibly wasteful.

The bottled water companies and those who sell RO sysyems know this and don't care. They end up getting their money.
