I like corned beef, but I shouldn't eat it because it's both beef and extra processed so it's really bad for you and I wish there was an easily available option for a gluten-free plant-based version at the store (recipes exist for it, but it's a lot more time to involve for making Reubens).

It was round two of reuben sandwiches for dinner tonight. Used a Vogel loaf instead of Freya's Tuscan and that was better, although Rye bread though is clearly the way to go. Spiced up the Russian dressing with more chili sauce. Added Worcester sauce for some umami and that worked well. Still some ways to go before it's quite right.

My learned colleague, Reuben Sandwich PhD, adopts a disguise for some of his research projects.
Here we see him in a wig that failed to receive institutional approval from IRB.
First my wife baked a huge #stromboli. Then she made me an enormous #reubensandwich. #foodporn #foodofmastodon #foodtoot #foodie
Today I learned that you can make a vegetarian Reuben sandwich by just leaving out the meat and otherwise making it exactly the same and it is still very excellent.
