  5. There's a bit of a recent hype about replicating the image rendering of the PS1 in modern game engines.

    Does any have information of any kind on how one would replicate the image rendering of Unreal Engine 1?

    Obviously searching online isn't very effective, as results will include all the hits about UE4 and UE5.

  6. I spent hours struggling against a moonwalking bug. No matter the input direction, the character would always move backwards.

    Somehow, deactivating the item parenting script (which manages the camera that the character is holding) fixed the issue. Turns out the character was colliding with her own camera all along, and continuously getting pushed backwards.

  10. An abandoned attempt to create a #DoctorWho inspired spacetime vortex animation, with #SNES graphics techniques such as prerendered 3D, palette swapping and #Mode7 layer transforms.

    I found that the palette cycling effect broke down towards the center of the vortex because it's too dense, so I had to patch it up.

    BTW, is this a good format for sharing step-by-step effect breakdowns? Or would separate images work better?
