The 'will internet shopping catch on' doc and the 'websites are a waste of time and money' postcard got me thinking about the Douglas Adams BBC2 documentary: Hyperland (1990). I remember watching this whilst studying 'multimedia' around the same time. It's brilliantly bonkers thanks to the excellent casting of Tom Baker. #retroFuturist

Bought one of those £30 "hologram" fan things. Has a rather pleasing "Back To The Future 2015" kind of vibe to it, and surprisingly easy to load your own images on to! :) #hologram #retrofuturist #hologramFans #backtothefuture

One last trip on the schwebebahn to take us to the hauptbahnhof to catch the train to Mönchengladbach. If you’re into train travel I highly recommend a trip to Wuppertal to ride on this unusual public transport system. #travel #trains #germany #RetroFuturist #metropolis

Cate Brooks - Easel Studies.
I've been playing this on a loop for the last few days and if I had my Pretentious Music Journalist hat on I'd be using phrases like 'icy shards' and 'glacial magnificence'. But I haven't, so I won't. It's great.

Are there any #artists on Mastodon who are doing art in retro #SciFi or #Retrofuturist modes? I'm talking about in the style of 1940 through 1960 cover art. If so, LMK. Example below, via @SFRuminations

I'm Katie! I love my day job in #datascience, where I use #python and #machinelearning for #biotech, but after 5pm I get creative.As a #VTuber I run a #retrofuturist burger joint with my best bud catburger. We make #youtube #letsplays and I make #VideoEssays about media that affected me. Sometimes I make #3dart & #pixelart. I like learning about #writing, #gamedev, #retro #videogamehistory, and all #art in general.
