Inherited a retro Specialized Hardrock Comp today.
From what I can tell (from a very quick look) all the parts seem in _fairly_ good nick. It's just pretty rusted.
I've never done a retro bike rebuild (but have often thought about it), but this looks like a good one to start.
New chain & cables to start and see how I get on. The triple chainring at the front might need to be replaced.

It’s just over 30 years old and my Marin’s still going strong. It may be old by today’s standards, but as bikes go, it’s still hard to beat, and was a fantastic buy in 1994! -
