Według nowego raportu The Elec, Apple planuje wdrożyć technologię Tandem OLED, znaną z iPada Pro M4, do przyszłych modeli iPhone’a.
Ekran Ultra Retina XDR, określany jako „najbardziej zaawansowany wyświetlacz na świecie”, ma trafić do smartfonów najwcześniej w 2028 roku.
Apple prowadzi rozmowy z LG i Samsungiem w sprawie produkcji nowego typu wyświetlaczy. Choć umowy jeszcze nie zostały podpisane, firma zakłada dwuletni harmonogram przygotowań do masowej produkcji.
Co oferuje Ultra Retina XDR?
- Jasność do 1600 nitów
- Lepszą precyzję kolorów i kontrastu.
- Szybszą reakcję pikseli.
- Większą szczegółowość w cieniach i przy słabym oświetleniu.
Nowa technologia pozwoli wynieść jakość obrazu w iPhone’ach na wyższy poziom – jeszcze jaśniejsze, bardziej realistyczne kolory i lepsza płynność wideo.

I'm a bit conflicted if it's a good thing or not. How does this interact when e.g. video and audio are played?
Will it scale those too, or allow the application to provide the higher-res video?
I guess that's what DPI-aware settings for applications allow, it makes the OS not scale them if they know how to deal with it?
Does the OS tell the application what their preferred scaling is?
