Have a chance to grab a fully working, very nice condition Hitachi V-1565 100MHz two channel analog oscilloscope for $95 locally.
I have an adequate digital 1 GHz two channel scope, but I’m intrigued with an analog one that has digital storage and cursors.
Any opinions on this one for the price and possible advantages (say in retro repair) of an analog scope (aside from the historical interest)?

Finally bought a much needed BackBit Chip Tester Pro to aid in my retro repairs. Great device!
I was testing my precious little set of six 4164 DRAMs when I glanced at a piece of foam that had a bunch of ICs I never looked at closely. I am quite sure they were tossed into a 1999 eBay purchase of an 80s-era GTEK EPROM burner and scads of misc (mostly) arcade EPROMS.
I decoded the ID and found I’ve been sitting on this pile of 27 working Hitachi 4864 (4164) DRAMs for 27 years!

My daughter just called me from a field with her friends in NOLA asking about something and I ended up in a brief conversation with her and her squad of girls about the pronunciation of "GIF."
In parting, I shared Steve Wilhite's 2013 Webby awards slide.
Her friends actually got on board with my old school knowledge, amazingly.
